IJISM was approved by the Journal Assessment Committee in the the Ministry of Science, Research and Technology as Scientific-Research journal in August 13, 2008.  Since 2009, the title of this journal has been changed from the International Journal of Information Science and Technology (IJIST) to the International Journal of Information Science and Management (IJISM).
